Hundreds of Women on Tuesday were seen embarking on a peaceful demonstration, asking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to release the result of the March 9 governorship election in Sokoto State. Hence, in other words, they were protesting against the decision of the election’s governing body for declaring the gubernatorial election an inconclusive election in Sokoto state.

The protesters were led by three serving commissioners in the state. They are namely; Prof A’isha Madawaki, Dr. Kulu Abubakar and Mrs. Kulu Sifawa.

They said INEC’s declaration of the election in the state as inconclusive was unacceptable.
