The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta state, appears to be reaching it’s end as the various tendencies resolved to make sacrifices and work together.

The various interests within the party met in Abuja in a meeting put together by Dr. Ibe Kachikwu after various unsuccessful efforts in the past following the controversial congress.

Dr. Ibe Kachikwu reached out to the presidency to help resolve the lingering crisis. The Vice president, Yemi Osibanjo at the instance of Mr. President agreed to help convene and chair a last effort meeting geared at reconciliation. Information reaching us said that the Honourable Minister put a very limited list of the combatants and the tendencies together with the state party chairman and went with them to the villa.

Recall that the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu has been at the forefront towards ensuring that the crisis that polarized the party in Delta state was resolved.

Before this recent development, Dr. Kachikwu had hosted series of meetings in Delta state and Abuja, aimed at uniting the party to make it stronger and formidable ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The recently held meeting was the first time the party would agree to work together since the party split into two factions after the State congress that produced the Ogodo led executive and Jones on the other side.

As part of moves geared towards concluding the peace process, a committee was set up among various stakeholders in the party and they are expected to meet this Sunday.

Efforts to get Dr. Kachikwu to comment on this new initiative failed as his aides whilst confirming the initiative said the Minister did not feel it was time for press talks as the Vice president was handling a delicate assignment and all should align behind his enormous authority,wisdom and goodwill to close out the disagreements that have plagued the state APC.
