Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has conferred himself Nigeria’s next president.
On Friday, speaking from Ado-Ekiti, Fayose proclaimed he would become the next president of Nigeria.
The outspoken governor and critic of the President Buhari-led administration bragged that he together with his political party had the ability snatch power from the ruling All Progressive Party and Muhammadu Buhari come 2019.
Fayose confidently said that Segun Oni and Kayode Fayemi who are former governors of the state if they contested in the 2018 gubernatorial election would lose out.
He mentioned that the former governors while in office did not perform outstandingly so that Ekiti people would fancy giving them another tenure in office like him.
These statements were made by the governor while he was in a meeting with political office holders in the State Government House in Ado-Ekiti as he examined Osoko Political Institute Centre.
He said, “Just because Ayo Fayose has won a second term to become Governor of Ekiti State, some people also think they can come back now, but I want to tell them that it is not possible. I am the man wholeheartedly loved by Ekiti people because of the many developmental projects that have brought great infrastructural and developmental advancement to Ekiti State.
“If you go around Ekiti State, you will see my handiwork dotting every nook and cranny of the state. This is why I am the man who every Ekiti person will follow in 2018.”
The governor also noted he had a hanker for snatching power after flooring two former governors who were incumbents Kayode Fayemi and Niyi Adebayo during the state gubernatorial polls.
“I have a penchant for taking powers; that one in Buhari’s hand. I will take it. I’m going straight to that (Presidential) Villa. I’m the next President.
“I want to be the next President of Nigeria. My own won’t be this change that has brought nothing, we are going to represent the people well and tell them the truth.”
Fayose has declared a public rally to mark three years after he won the governorship poll on June 21 to become governor of Ekiti state again on Wednesday.
